High-wage job offer points

What IRCC's Labour Market Integration factor does from November 3, 2026, and what to do before that date.

In short

From November 3, 2026, your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score uses either skilled Canadian work experience, with a high-wage bonus after 12 months or 1,560 hours, or a qualifying high-wage job offer. It never adds both. A job offer can score 100, 70, or 50 points. The work bonus can score 70, 40, or 20 points. The factor caps at 150 points if you are alone, and 140 if an accompanying spouse or partner is on the file. You do not need an LMIA, which is a Labour Market Impact Assessment that employers often use to hire foreign workers, for these CRS points. Your current job can count if the offer meets IRCC's rules. Eligible work is usually TEER 0 to 3, the Training, Education, Experience and Responsibilities levels Canada uses to group jobs, and is usually done in Canada within the last 10 years. If you already have an offer, add it to your Express Entry profile before November 3. Invitation rounds may pause for up to two weeks while IRCC recalculates scores.

Next step: check your NOC (National Occupational Classification code) on the list, then estimate your CRS score, or book a consultation.

Two options, higher score only

IRCC calls this the Labour Market Integration factor. You score under Option A or Option B. The system keeps the higher number.

Option A: Canadian work

Keep the usual points for how long you worked in skilled Canadian jobs (TEER 0 to 3). Without a spouse, you can score up to 80 points for five or more years. With a spouse, the length points go up to 70.

Add a high-wage bonus if at least 12 months, or 1,560 hours, of that work was in list occupations. The bonus is 70 points at the 2x tier, 40 at 1.5x, or 20 at 1.3x. The same bonus applies with or without a spouse. The months can be continuous or not, full time or equal part time, and across more than one eligible job.

Option B: Job offer

A qualifying offer in a high-wage NOC can score 100 points at the 2x tier, 70 at 1.5x, or 50 at 1.3x. The same grid applies with or without a spouse.

The offer is generally full time, continuous, and in Canada for at least one year after you become a permanent resident. It needs written terms for pay, duties, and hours. Trades and some physicians have extra rules on IRCC's pages.

Rules that decide the points

  • You keep the higher of the two paths only. The cap is 150 points if you have no accompanying spouse or partner, and 140 if you do.
  • These CRS points do not require an LMIA.
  • The offer may be your current job or a new one.
  • The tier comes from the NOC's national median wage, not your own pay. See the high-wage NOC list for every code.
  • Eligible Canadian experience is generally in Canada, in TEER 0 to 3, and within the previous 10 years.
  • Skills transferability still uses plain Canadian work years. It does not use the high-wage bonus rules.
  • A non high-wage offer can still matter for Federal Skilled Worker or Federal Skilled Trades eligibility without adding these CRS offer points.

Before November 3

Update a real offer in your profile now. IRCC may pause rounds for up to two weeks while existing profiles recalculate. If the form still forces a positive LMIA answer, IRCC says to select yes and enter LMIA number 00000, issued 2026-01-01, expiring 2029-01-01. Follow IRCC's job offer page. Do not buy an offer. A fake offer can end a file.

What IRCC has not published

As of October 16, 2026, the public CRS criteria page still shows Canadian work inside the old core grid and does not name Labour Market Integration as its own row. Dollar cutoffs behind the 2x, 1.5x, and 1.3x tiers are not published. The NOC list is the authority. Exact placement of the factor inside the 1,200-point story is not confirmed in amended Ministerial Instructions on that date. I score the factor the way IRCC described the points. If IRCC and this page ever disagree, use IRCC.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an LMIA for CRS job offer points?

No. From November 3, 2026, a Labour Market Impact Assessment is not required for a qualifying job offer to count for these CRS points, or for Federal Skilled Worker or Federal Skilled Trades program eligibility offers covered by IRCC's temporary public policy. An officer still decides whether the offer is genuine.

Can my current job count as the offer?

Yes, if it meets IRCC's rules for a qualifying offer: in writing, generally full time and continuous for at least one year after permanent residence, in a high-wage NOC on the list, and found genuine. A work permit alone is not a job offer.

What if I qualify for both Canadian work points and a job offer?

You get the higher amount only. IRCC does not add them together. The Labour Market Integration factor caps at 150 points if you have no accompanying spouse or partner, and 140 if you do.

Does my own salary decide the tier?

No. The tier is the occupation's national median wage compared with the average median wage in Canada. Check the NOC on IRCC's list or on my high-wage NOC list tool.

What should I do before November 3, 2026?

If you already have a qualifying job offer, add it to your Express Entry profile before November 3. IRCC may pause invitation rounds for up to two weeks while it recalculates scores. If the online form still asks for a positive LMIA, IRCC says to answer yes and use LMIA number 00000, issued 2026-01-01, expiring 2029-01-01. Follow IRCC's page exactly.
